GTIN-8 Allocation

GTIN-8 ( 8 digit product code) is allocated to the product where enough space is not available on the packaging to use GTIN-13 or UPC-A. GS1 Company Prefix ( GCP) registration is a prerequisite for GTIN-8 allocation .

Before applying for GTIN-8 product code, organisations need to send their product details on company letterhead alongwith packaging sample(s) to GS1 India to determine the possibility for allocation of GTIN-8 as per GS1 standards.

In event of allocation of GTIN-8, both the subscriptions need to be renewed on their respective expiry.

The fee for allocation of GTIN-8 code is Rs 1124.00 ( inclusive of 12.36% service tax) per product code per year . Please make payment by Cheque/DD/NEFT only.
