Prior to this, he was General Manager for Central India handling the biggest unit (branch) for Unilever India spread across 5 states with a population of 460 Mn, having a distribution network of 1K distributors and directly servicing 0.4 Mn + outlets. Dheeraj has been with Unilever for over 13 years. He has worked across General Trade, Modern Trade, Customer Marketing, CD Operations and CD-IT across India and in Global Team. He was the Director RTM for S Asia, Africa and NAMET-Rub and CD-IT prior to taking over his current role as GM – Central India. Mr. Seshu Kumar, Head, Merchandising –Big Basket had graduated from IIM Ahmedabad in 1991. Seshu Kumar heads Buying, Merchandising and Brand Intelligence and is a part of Management Council in Big Basket. Prior to joining Big Basket, Mr.Seshu Kumar was Head of Rural Retailing and Marketing verticals in ITC – Agri Business Division where he was running the “Choupal Saagar” chain of Rural Hypermarkets and Rural Activations for all ITC Brands. ITC Choupal Saagar was a unique chain of 24 Rural Stores in small towns with a two-way flow of products to and from the Rural Customers.
Prior to ITC, he joined a start-up team in 2000 in e-commerce industry with Fabmall.com (then Fabmart.com) which was started by the same founding team of Big Basket. When Fabmall expanded to opening Supermarkets, Mr.Seshu Kumar spearheaded Fabmall’s foray into setting up the chain of Fabmall Supermarkets in Bangalore.

Mr. Seshu Kumar followed up his startup experience in Walt Disney with a small stint as Consultant with KSA Technopak at KSA Technopak.
