Cancellation

Before you decide to cancel your GS1 India barcode subscription, you should consider the following: 

  • On cancellation, products manufactured after the expiry of the subscription validity period cannot carry GS1 barcodes. Any such product in the supply chain/market would require being withdrawn immediately. GS1 India actively monitors barcodes on all retailed products through retailers/field surveys etc. If GS1 barcodes are found without a valid subscription, GS1 India reserves the right to proceed against the defaulting company legally at their cost. 
  • On cancellation, online listings of products using GTINs (generated using GS1 Company Prefix allocated by GS1 India) would require being removed from all online shopping sites immediately.   
  • On cancellation, your company/product information would be de-activated and not be accessible to you or your trading partners through any GS1 platform (DataKart, GEPIR etc.) or visible through the Smart Consumer app. 
  • GS1 India reserves the right to notify all retailers, online shopping sites and others about the cancellation of your subscription.

If you wish to use GS1 barcodes at a later date, you would need to register afresh with GS1 India by paying the requisite fees prevalent at that time with arrears. To re-apply, e-mail us at registration@gs1india.org.

For effecting a cancellation, written confirmation stating that your assigned barcode numbers have been removed from the supply chain and online listings is required on stamp paper. Use this draft affidavit to send your cancellation request to GS1 India Delhi office.  

Cancellation of DataKart premium subscription

If you want to cancel your DataKart premium subscription only (without cancelling your barcode subscription), send a cancellation request on your company letterhead to info@gs1india.org. On cancellation, you shall no longer have access to the premium features as well as exchange/share product information with your trading partners.

If you wish to subscribe to DataKart premium service at a later date, you would need to register afresh with GS1 India by paying the requisite fees prevalent at that time. To re-apply, e-mail us at registration@gs1india.org.

Termination

If the barcode subscription renewal fees are not paid on or before the subscription validity period, your subscription is liable for termination by GS1 India.
